SINGLE WORKSHOPS OFFERED FOR BOOKING:

Simple Clown
In this physical and practical workshop, participants will explore the basic principles of theatrical clowning. They will discover what is innately ridiculous about themselves... and learn to play and invent from a truly spontaneous, honest and open place. The Simple Clown is an extremely rich level of play, enabling the performer to communicate clearly with an audience on a universal level. Participants will explore innocence, solitude and play - the basis of great theatrical invention.

Clown in a Dramatic Role/Tragic Clown—A continuation of Simple Clown
Participants will explore the more dramatic elements of theatrical clowning. They will discover what happens when the universal clown character is placed in tragic situation, explore tragic-comic scene and play creation, discover the clown’s ability to connect purely with an audience, to convey tragedy in a simple and human way.

Bouffon Clown
This extremely physical workshop explores the darker side of clowning: the Bouffon Clown. This character emerges form the underworld full of mystery and mischief. Participants will explore the grotesque, the brutal, and the extremely ridiculous side of themselves and learn to rejoice in the power of repulsion—An extremely rich and outrageous level of play. Not for the faint hearted.

Physical Approaches to Acting
A workshop for theater artists (actors, dancers and directors). This workshop will explore some of the basic principals of physical theater including Neutral Mask, Ensemble and Chorus, Play, Improvisation, Physical impulse & tension and Physical Approaches to Text. The workshop will be practical and physical.

Neutral Mask
A workshop for theatre artists (actors, dancers and directors) that explores one of the most important elements in the actor’s repertoire: The Neutral Mask. Participants will explore the magnification of the actor’s body in the space and witness the power of minute physical adjustments and the use of breath to create immense character change. The performer will learn to be truly neutral, thus enabling them to approach the character creation process in a pure and prepared way.

Ensemble and Collaborative Play Creation
A workshop for theatre artists (actors, directors and writers) that explores the basic principles of ensemble performance technique and collaborative play creation. It will be practical and physical and will investigate the writing process through ensemble, physical theatre, clowning and improvisation.
